The Pakistani film industry is definitely on the rise. Where our short films, documentaries and even feature films are leaving a mark and creating a buzz in international film festivals, here, on the home ground, we’re focused on creating even bigger, more impactful projects.
This time, Pakistani filmmakers have now collaborated with Turkish filmmakers to present the audience a joint project which will not only star some veteran Pakistani actors but Turkish actors as well.
The film, which is yet to be titled will star Pakistani actor Emad Irfani, Ghana Ali, Qavi Khan in pivotal roles alongside Turkish actor Mert Sismanlar. The story of the film will revolve around the independence movement sprouting the Khilafat Movement in the subcontinent when it was ruled by the British. With its historical theme, the film will explore how Muslims of the subcontinent supported the Khilafat in Turkey and helped their fellow Muslims there.
According to Ghana Ali, who’s playing a very important character in the film, the shoot of the yet to be titled project is expected to begin from mid-October. This film will be released in both Pakistan and Turkey as well as in other foreign markets.
Here’s wishing the entire cast and crew of the project all the very best and hoping it turns out to be another game-changer for Pakistani cinema in the international market.
