Mehwish Hayat has served Aamir Liaquat quite well for calling her an ‘item girl’ over Twitter.
A few days back, Aamir Liaquat had criticized Mehwish Hayat for commenting on and condemning the US drone strike that killed the Iranian military commander, Qassem Soleimani, in Iraq.
Mehwish had tweeted “Can’t believe that just 72 hours into 2020 & the world is already teetering on the edge of war. I guess this is what happens when the “leader of the free world” takes unilateral decisions without regard for international laws. This isn’t just abt Iran &USA. God protect us #Soleimani”
As soon as she tweeted this, out of the woodwork came Amir Liaquat to point out how her statement was not ‘in line with Pakistan’s foreign policy’ while also trying to bring her down by calling her an ‘item girl’.
He remarked “just because Mehwish received a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the ‘item girl’ should not pass such statements and should keep Pakistan’s foreign policy in mind. He added that if Soleimani was alive, ‘would he have invited her to perform in Iran?’”
The Loadwedding actress made sure to school the games show hot and put him back in his line by immediately hitting back at him over his sexist tweet.
“This “item girl” is exercising her democratic right to have an opinion whereas you keep stooping to making personal jibes and nothing more. Man up!,” tweeted the actress.
“BTW whatever happened to the case you were filing against me for “Load Wedding”? I have been waiting with bated breath,” she further referred to Aamir Liaquat’s previous threat of suing the makers and actors of film Load Wedding for defaming him through a comical parody.
Well done Mehwish!
