Meray Paas Tum Ho famed writer Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has refused to apologize over his abusive behavior towards women rights activist Marvi Sirmad on a live TV show even after Geo Entertainment has suspended all ongoing contracts with the writer.
The writer had used inappropriate, profane language for both Sirmad and the Aurat March on the show which resulted in an outrage on social media with activists, celebrities and many in general calling him out for misogyny.
Geo broke the news of their discord with KRQ until he apologized for his misogynist remarks via social media on Thursday.
According to Geo TV’s official statement, KRQ had been signed for four drama scripts and a film script with the network. Despite Geo TV’s leeway to resume the contract as soon as Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar apologizes, the writer voiced no intention of doing so.
Instead, he informed his fans that he’s canceling the contract.
‘I’ll not work with this institution for my life to come,” Qamar tweeted in response to Geo’s official statement.
