Government Appoints Mehwish Hayat As Goodwill Ambassador For Girls’ Rights

Mehwish Hayat is not only an actress par excellence, she is one kind soul and a fierce activist for human rights. The bold actress speaks her heart, no matter where she happens to be. Whether in Pakistan or internationally, Mehwish Hayat doesn’t fear to take upon those who are unfair and raise her voice for what’s right.

Recently, Mehwish Hayat appointed the Muslim charity Penny Appeal’s brand ambassador and she has actively started work for the cause as well.

Following the fierce determination Mehwish works for the causes she’s associated with, the Human Rights Ministry of Pakistan has appointed Hayat as the Goodwill Ambassador for the rights of the girl child.

Mehwish took to her social media to make the announcement.

“This is something very close to my heart & I look forward to actively raising awareness of the issues to be addressed. Let’s give girls the better future they deserve,” wrote Mehwish on her post.

Adding further, Mehwish also stated, ” It is an honor for me to play a crucial role in helping girls get their rights. I wish to see a Pakistan where girls are given the opportunities to get an education.” Mehwish also called upon the nation to support the cause and help the girls live a better future, they truly deserve.

Back in March, Mehwish Hayat was awarded Tamgha E Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan. Following that Hayat went on to receive the Pride of Performance in Norway, where she also highlighted the injustice international film community had been doing to Pakistan’s image.

Last month, Mehwish also made it to the list of The Muslim Vibe’s top five Muslim women in the world.
