After many hit dramas to his credit, Affan Waheed has been roped in as a lead character for the upcoming film Mastani which will also mark the actor’s cinematic debut. The film is said to be a romantic comedy with a bit of suspense in it as well.
Talking to local media, the Ghalati actor revealed that he waited so long to sign his first film because he didn’t want to jeopardize his drama career for something mediocre.
“The reason I chose this project was that it’s actually got a really nice storyline and there is no slapstick humor in it; that’s difficult for me to pull off,’ Affan told local media unveiling the reason for signing Mastani.
Spilling beans on his character in the movie, Affan said that he’ll be playing a simple and kind-hearted man Shakil who is in love with a lion-hearted woman Aliyah.
The film is already on floors and according to Affan, the makers are tentatively aiming to release it on Eid-ul-Fitr this year.
Produced by Daniya Nizami and directed by Usman Rizvi who has also written the film, Mastani also features Amna Ilyas, Addi Adeal, Perveen Akbar, Shahnawaz Zaidi, Amna Malik, Hira Khan among others.
